RE: MR 2012 Missing transactions
Rich,
The data mart can get out of sync. Also, if the reports are not built correctly, new added accounts may not be covered by the ranges displayed in the reports.
As for rebuilding the data mart, this is covered starting on Page 218 of our Management Reporter book. But, since it is you....
Recreating an existing Data Mart or adding new ones require several steps. Unless you understand the operations below completely, consult with your MS Dynamics partner. But in any case...MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!
If there is an existing Data Mart, steps 1-4 need to be executed to remove the original relationships. The steps are detailed here.
Removing An Existing Integration
Open the Configuration Console from the server.
Select the Dynamics Data Mart ERP Integration from the left panel.
In the right panel click the Remove link, and then click yes to confirm it will be deleted.
Removing Companies
In the left panel, select the Companies option to display the list.
Select each of the Data Mart companies, one at a time, and click the Delete Company button at the bottom.
Dropping the MS-SQL Database
In the left panel, select the Companies option to display the list.
Select each of the Data Mart companies, one at a time, and click the Delete Company button at the bottom.
Recreating the Data Mart and MS SQL Database
Open the Configuration Console from the server.
From the menu, select File . Configure
Select the Add Microsoft Dynamics GP Data Mart check box and click Next.
Configure MS SQL Server connections.
The Dynamics GP connection area defines the MS SQL Server instance where the Dynamics GP companies reside.
The Data Mart connection area of the window defines the MS SQL Server instance where the DDM database will be created.
In many cases, the Dynamics GP company database(s), the Management Reporter and the data mart (DDM) databases all reside on the same MS SQL Server instance. The data mart database can reside on a separate server from the Dynamics ERP system, as demonstrated in the screen shot.
Click next to proceed to the summary window and click Configure at the bottom to create the new data mart.
Enable the Integration
Open the Configuration Console from the server.
Select the Dynamics Data Mart ERP Integration from the left panel.
In the right panel click the Enable Integration button. The setup and initial data mart propagation takes a few minutes. The Status section will update periodically.
When complete, the Last time everything was fully integrated field will automatically update.
Refreshing the Companies List
In the left panel, select the Companies option to display the list.
Select the Refresh Companies button at the bottom to refresh the list.
Ensure the data mart companies appear. The Source System column will display the type of connection.
Testing the Connection
Open the Management Reporter Report Designer.
Select Company . Companies from the menu bar.
Highlight the newly created data mart company and click the Set As Default button.
Click the Modify button and assign the proper Building Block Group. New companies inherit the Default Building Block Group, however the right reports may reside in a different one, so use the drop down to select the proper group.
Close the open windows, select a report from the Report Definitions list and generate it.
Compare the report totals to the general ledger to ensure accuracy.
Review and adjust user security as required and begin using the new data mart for reporting.
Review Security
Select the Security section in the Report Designer.
Review the Generator and Designer user access to the recreated DDM companies.
