GP Community,

Situation: I am trying to create a GP test environment in a new server.

Actions taken:

  1. I have read KB878449 - How to transfer an existing Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Small Business Financials, or Microsoft Small Business Manager installation to a new server that is running Microsoft SQL Server.
  2. I ran Capture_Logins.sql
  3. I have backed up the Dynamics database and my company database.
  4. I have installed SQL and GP on a new server.
  5. I have restored the Dynamics database and my company database.
  6. Ran Dex_req.sql and Grant.sql
  7. changed the database owner to DYNSA using:
    sp_changedbowner 'DYNSA'
  8. Ran GP Database Maintenance.

Errors:

The GP Database Maintenance runs and i get these errors

  1. Dynamics > Microsoft Dynamics GP > Functions > GetUserID Invalid column ADObjectGuid
  2. Dynamics > Microsoft Dynamics GP > Stored Procedures > DeployClrAssemblies: Invalid Object Name 'Dynamics.dbo.syClrAssemblies'
  3. Dynamics > Human Resources > Stored Procedures >Slp_HR_Func_ZZZ_Create: Procedure smGetMIEnumString has no parameteres and arguments were supplied

Please help,

When did you get this error? While login to GP? or Running any process in GP?

    Cesar,

Take a look at this post:

    community.dynamics.com/.../110799

Additionally, if you are using Human Resources for Microsoft Dynamics GP, the Attendance Setup information will not be copied over. To open this window, click Tools, point to Setup, point to Human Resources, point to Attendance, and then click Setup. This information is not copied over because the TAST0130 table contains a reference to the Live Company database. To correct this issue, update the Attendance Setup window in the new Test company database to contain the same information as the Live database. Or, write an update statement to change the company name reference in the TAST0130 table.

These errors are the results from running the GP Database Maintenance application. I get those errors at the end

    Harry,

I read the post you suggested and i started walking through the steps.  when i get to the step below i get an error in ms sql management studio.  I want to say i did this once before.

"run the script below to fix the user mappings to the company database."

When i double click the GP icon i get these error messages.
that is what prompted me to use the GP Database Maintenance Utility.

    Cesar,

According to Ian Stewart (dynamicsgp.wordpress.com/.../dynamics-set-list-of-dynamics-gp-products), that file is used for Fixed Assets (FA).

My long shot guess is that:

    a) You have FA installed in your LIVE env

    b) You skipped FA installation in TEST env

I'd check the contents of the DYNAMICS.SET file line by line.

Then using Add/ remove programs, modify TEST to match LIVE.

    Cesar -

As far as the PKSY00600 error goes, this is happening because you have duplicate values in the SY00600 table. Query the table and remove the superfluous record(s).

If the FAM.DIC file won't open, it may be corrupted or may not be in the destination folder. Check to see if it is indeed in the folder. If it is, then you may want to delete it and run a repair operation on Dynamics GP.

I made a mistake last week when i ran the SQL query. i left out line 1  "Use Dynamics" .

I copied the dynamics.set file from our production box and moved it to the test server.

now i keep getting the missing dictionary errors followed by trigger registration errors

    Arturo,

i tried copying the dynamics.set file from production to the test server and keep getting the same errors. I'll make sure we do not have FA installed .

    Thanks,

    Cesar

Open the Dynamics.set file and check the path whether it has saved with appropriate dictionary, form & report path.

    Hope this helps!!!
