Closing AP calendar year

We used Greenshades for our 1099 processing and on the front of their sales brochure it says "No need to perform year-end closing in AP".  I took this to mean that some process we did (such as creating the e-file) would automatically perform the year end close.  Unfortunately, I just found out this is not what they mean and our 2008 AP Calendar year has not been closed.  We've also been vouchering AP documents in 2009 that have 1099 implications.

Can someone give me some advice or guidance as to what the best process would be to close AP 2008 calendar year at this point and what the effects are?

Thank you!

    Ellen,

The GP Help files provide a good explanation of the effects of closing each series in GP, including AP.
