CDS custom entity relationship with Virtual entity

Hello Experts,

I have a requirement to fetch the data from an external data source and display the same on the CDS custom entity form within the subgrid.

So for this I created the Virtual entity and created the 1:N relationship between the CDS custom entity and the Virtual entity to map both the entities. But I get the below error on creating the relationship:

Could anyone please let me know whether we can create the 1:N relationship between CDS custom entity and Virtual entity or not?

How can I achieve this requirement by using the Virtual entity concept? Or please suggest if you have any other ideas to achieve this.

Hi Inkey,

You have to match External Collection name and External field name also should match.

Also verify these fields name in your OData V4 API.

Hello Lu Hao,

Thanks for the response. I am able to see the Virtual entity related data properly by providing the correct External Collection name and External field name.

But the issue arises when I try to create the 1:N relationship between CDS custom entity and the Virtual entity. Is there any other way that we can connect the CDS custom entity and the Virtual entity?
