Updating owner of record externally from CRM

Hello,

I have a requirement for a user (using Outlook with CRM add-on) to be able to click on a link from within an email to change the ownership of a record that is currently assigned to them.  Can this be done programmatically with a hyperlink in the email?

    Not directly from within the content of an email. You could have the link point to a web service that accepts parameters via the url which could execute the code needed to re-assign the record.

    Hi Jason,

    Do you think it would be possible to also have a reply email created  (waiting for user to enter a message) as well have the record updated via the web service you mentioned?

    Once you've gone done the path of writing the code for such a web service, adding an email notification would be something else you could include - at that point you are only limited by the CRM API's (which allow just about everything) and your imagination.
