Harmonized Tariff Codes for GP 2013

What is the best way to store tariff codes in GP2013 per Item? 

We have an integration with UPS WorldShip and GP through OzLink and would like to automatically populate the Customs Declaration window using data from GP. In order to do this, we need to store the harmonized codes somewhere on the Item Card.

Is there a better place than a custom category field?

    Of course there is. MVP Leslie vail brought up an important method to do so recently, this can be done through a field called "Item Code" which is not visible on the window and you can bring it up using Dynamics GP modifier. Here is the article Record the Bar Code in the Item Code field in Inventory

    I have to keep credit for Ms. Leslie on this, I never used to know it was even there before

    Isn't it nice to have such an invisible field, poping up just in time  ... !

    especially with the inventory module, since you always need more fields on the item card window specifically.
