Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

I want to start entering budget figures for 2012, but can't create a 2012 budget file because 2012 is not an open year. Do I have to wait until 2011 is closed?

Colette,

No need to wait for 2011 to be closed. You can have an unlimited number of years open in GP, so there is no issue with creating all the years you need for budgeting purposes.

Colette,

If you go to Administration > Company > Fiscal Periods, has 2012 been created yet?

This will make the year available in your "Budget Year" drop-down when creating a new budget.
