Install MR 2010 License Key

Good afternoon,

We've installed MR 2010 Server and Client.  However when launching either Report Designer or Report Viewer we get a message saying our evaluation period for the software has expired and that we need to enter a new license key.  We've downloaded the new license key, but we have no idea where to enter it into MR or GP.

Can anyone please shed some light as to how to enter in the license key?

    Registration keys can be entered under Tools->registration

    Tools option is available with Management reporter->Report designer

    Thanks Ajit,

    Perhaps I should've mentioned that the error message we receive also closes MR, so we never get the opportunity to reach the Tools option.

    Edward,

    Can you log into Management Reporter as an administrator? If you do, then when you get that your key is expired you will be able to select OK you will be able to enter the registration key. If you are not an administrator user, you will not be able to. When administrators launch Report Designer they do not need to set a company as default. If they hit cancel they can go to Security or to Tools > Registration, and enter the key there.

    I am having this same problem, however i logged in as Administrator and there is only 1 company and it was previously set as default so there is no company login window.  As soon as I say OK to the expired registration keys, it kicks me out.  I have no way to enter Registration keys and no way to get into Report Designer.  I can access the Configuration Console, but that does not help.

    Any ideas?

    Maria,

    You shouldn't have to set the company as default, you should be able to cancel out of that and then go to Tools>Registration. If you are unable to do this then please send me some screen shots (my email is above).

    April - I have same problem as Maria and just sent you an email and screen shots. I am an administrator for Management Reporter - but since I have a default company - the application doesn't give me any 'cancel' option.......it tries to connect.........the message pops up and there's no way to cancel out and get to top tool bar (like we used to do in FRx)............

    Bron - I ended up having to open a support case with MBS and I had to upload the MR database to them and give them the Reg keys for the client after a lot of troubleshooting.  They sent me a script back that I had to run against the database to insert the proper Registration keys into the table.
