Hello Everyone,

RMS Store Operations, v 2.0.0155

Several companies in the grocery arena are now re-labeling their products using UPC-E bar codes to have more space for their marketing/product information. The store owner would like to put a bar code on the shelf tag (label). There is no UPC-E option on the bar code drop-down for an item so I'm assuming there is no integration in RMS to be able to generate a UPC-E. Has anyone dealt with this issue and what solution did you come up with?

I'd like to keep either a UPC-A or UPC-E bar code on the labels within the store so I'm thinking that I may need to use an third party bar code generator that will handle a batch file to handle the UPC-E label printing or take the UPC-E and derive a UPC-A code and put the UPC-E in as an alias.

my once generated upc-a barcode reminds me they can also offer upc-e barcode in any platforms,just take this one for example!

i don't know whether it can produce UPC-E barcodes, but the barcode generator can create different kinds of barcode in a short time. you can check it by yourself. good luck!

The idautomation barcode generator is good, but I like RE barcode generator more, cause it is FREE！

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your response. What I ended up doing was running a SQL statement to update all bar codes to Code 39, thus standardizing to one format and additionally that solved another problem with alphanumeric and special characters in the Item Lookup Code.

Additionally, downloaded from IDAutomation at: www.idautomation.com/.../code39-font a free Code 39 bar code font which I used in both MS-Word and -Excel. Please Note: Great site for everything bar code.

I once used a UPC-A barcode generator from a website, and I thought it is really helpful. So hope it still works with you.

I _think_ the second NONE option in the list is UPC-E
