Organization diagram out of GP2010

I am trying to find an option that can output into Visio, or something similar, to reflect a true organization diagram. In the Company Center of Business Portal there is an option, but it can't be modified. I need to pull in additional HR data to what comes standard.

I have a linear SSRS report I created, and the GP report writer report is not intelligent or user friendly.

My CFO is asking me to create a Visio style diagram pulling out of GP. Any ideas or things that have worked?

Many thanks, Ben

If you have Visio and you can get a Smartlist data out to Excel (and sorted correctly), the Visio documentation says that it can import hierachical data and build an Org chart.

Tim - Thank you so much for the direction. I have tested with the wizard, but it still wants to pull every employee into their own page. IThe source I am using is a simple excel file, 6 columns, one employee per line. The supervisor code field does link to the JobTitle for that respective employee who is the supervisor. It does not seem no matter what I do I can get the organizational levels to show on one page. Have you used this and had any success, or any suggestions?

Thank you very much already, Ben

Sorry.  I haven't used it personally.  I only remembered that it was an available feature in Visio.

Tim - I found a link with a brief video of someone stepping through the wizard. office.microsoft.com/.../demo-create-your-organization-chart-by-using-the-organization-chart-wizard-HA010227033.aspx

This showed me what I was missing, and it has worked GREAT! Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I have to run a query to extract the data from SQL, save it to Excel, but then it is about 4 clicks of the wizrd and we have nice clean org charts where we can choose our own fields to place.

    Thanks again, Ben
