We upgraded in the spring of 2015 and since then, credit card deposits are not always matching up to z report deposits. Deposits are usually greater than expected. I have found a few transactions on the processor website that were missing from RMS. I have several examples now and would like to use the EDC report but it isn't there. I've checked the back office computer and the two cash register computers. Is there a place to download it?
Thanks!
Amy

Hi Lisa.
Normally, this two reports don't have any build-in filters. If you open/edit the files with Notepad, the "SelCriteria" tag in the query definition is empty, just under the "TablesQueried" tag. So, check if the value is empty (""). If it's not empty, means someone have edited the reports, so you can put it back to empty ("") again.
This may not be the case, so I would suggest you first try to open the "VisaNetAuthorization" table in your RMS Database, by using SQL Server Management Studio. Check if this table is empty. If it is, thats why your reports are not returning you any data.
Next step, what I would do is test it in live-environment, when a credit card transaction is finished, see if there is a record of that transaction in this table. I don't know who is your provider or RMS Partner for the Payment Gateway, or if you have any add-on for this. If You do, maybe the add-on is not filling up this table and uses other way to save the transaction details (external files?, the provider web site??...). If You don't have any add-on connection beteween RMS POS and the payment gateway, then maybe you need personalized reports. Maybe the cashiers are making errors on charging the customer, without finishing the transaction in RMS POS??
Do this testings and we'll have more information, we will be able to help you more...
Kind regards, A.
Thanks, David. Your tip worked and we can now pull the reports but they are all blank, no matter the dates chosen. Any other suggestions? Thank you!
What you need to do is go into the folder that has the qrp reports, which usually is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\Reports\
and then rename the 2 reports that deal with EDC, which are:
Misc - Vital Transaction Report.qrp
Misc - VisaNet EDC Detail Report.qrp
Rename the beginning part of Misc to Custom so the files are now:
Custom - Vital Transaction Report.qrp
Custom - VisaNet EDC Detail Report.qrp
Then restart the Manager program and you will find the reports under Reports / Custom.
For some reason Microsoft hid these from Reports / Miscellaneous.
