Entering Production by Work Order and generating Pallet ID's One at a time

Is there a way to enter in Production into a Work Order in the Job Registration Module several lines at a time.  Currently, our company is finding a work order, going into feedback, entering the production amount and generating a pallet for every 4 entries.  It seems there should be a way to enter all of these production lines at the same time, rather than searching for the same work order over and over, clicking feedback, entering production, and repeating the steps until all production is in the system.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks,

Kerry

I've got the same requirement - I want to setup the Job registration form (or possibly the Production order > Update > Report as finish form) so that the user can easily report the production of a pallet of product. My production orders are going to consist of 10 to 20 pallets each, and I think that the pallet wrapping station (where we want to label the pallets and perform the production order report as finish) is servicing more than one production line - so we're going to be working with multiple production orders concurrently.

There are many ways you can accomplish this, but they are all going to rely on the proper configuration, which is going to be a reasonably in-depth conversation to understand what's configured today, what you want to happen, etc.

It sounds like you are using Mfg Execution.   Your feedback in Job registration is posting a Job Card journal, and that's causing an RAF journal, which is generating your Pallet ID's.

You can post Job Card Journals for the last JOB in each production order in mass at Production Control -> Journals -> Job Card.

You can post Report as Finished (RAF) journals in mass at Production Control -> Journals -> Report as Finished.

You can also use the Report as Finished journals in mass at Production Control -> Periodic -> Production Orders -> Report as Finished.  This path gives you a Select button so you can build a query to figure out what to RAF, and you can schedule this to run in batch at some interval.

Again, you can automate this as much or as little as you like, but you should fully understand the business process before you make changes.   Bring your cost accounting group, production, and materials control group all into the conversation.
