Dear Experts,

Kindly help with below questions on asset leasing .

Question1 :-  What should be the Data collection format for asset leasing  to take it from customer ?  Please share it .

Question 2 -   What is the process for posting bulk depreciation of the lease asset as periodic process at a time ?  In module from where this can be done . ( In asset leasing module this functionality is available ) similarly is it available in asset leasing as well  ?

Question 3 :- For one entity , is there a possibility can customer have one as per gap and one as per irfs principle . Or both can be as either GAP & or IRFS ?   What are the possibilities for these ?

Thanks you in advance for help .

Regards,

Vivek

    Hi Vivek,

1 - There are three data entities that will allow the user to upload data into the Asset Leasing module in bulk:

Parent Leases - Contains the lease header information. This will upload the same information that you would enter manually in the Add Lease form such as Lease ID, lease group, fair value, etc. This should be uploaded first after the system is fully configured.

Payment Schedule Contract - Contains the same information as the Payment Schedule Lines on the Add Lease form. The Lease ID field in this data entity should match the Lease IDs uploaded in the Parent Leases data entity, and therefore, should be imported only after the Parent Lease data entity has been imported.

Expense Schedule Contract - If applicable, any executory cost schedule lines should be imported last in a similar manner to the Payment Schedule Contract entity.

2- Please navigate to Asset Leasing > Periodic > Batch Journal Creation. Choose Depreciation Schedule from the schedule dropdown to post depreciation entries:

3 - Yes, this is a common scenario. You can create two different lease books and assign both of those books to the same group. Then, when creating a lease assigned to that lease group, both sets of books will be created against that lease for US GAAP and IFRS.

    Hi Vivek,

The requirements gathering required for the Asset Leasing module is extension to capture all requirements - accounting standards, approvals, variable payments, etc. However from a data input standpoint, I would review the mandatory fields needed to input a lease and start from there - primarily, incremental borrowing rates, annuity types, commencement dates, and then of course the payment schedule line information for their leases.

    Thanks!

Have taken the clarification from customer on question 1 :-  Its actually !

Question 1 :- What are available templates to import the initial data (Setup, configuration, master, opening ) ?

So the answer what you have mentioned for question one will that full fill the requirement of (Setup, configuration, master, opening ) ?
