How to use / match "Closed on" field of Quote as "Order Date" ?

Hi everyone,

we are currently trying to improve our Dashboards and therefore I have created a chart, that is supposed to show all Won quotes over the year with date and amount.

So I thought its as easy as to create a chart using the amount of the quote and the OTB field /Closed on/. But it seems like the /closed on/ field shows something else. I thought it is the date, on which the Status of the Close changed to /Won/ or /Closed/. Can anyone explain to me, what exactly this field shows?

As a /Order Date/ we use this OTB field: /createorderdate/. So best would be to use this date field in my chart to show the amounts ordered over the year. But I have no clue on how to match it.
Since our orders are then created and processed in SAP, we do not use the entity /Order/ in Dynamics.

Thanks for your help !!

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that's not possible.
The /Closed On/ field will only populate when the quote is closed.
When an order is created via a quote, the quote will be set to Won and the /Closed On/ field will not be populated at this time.

And adding fields from the related Order entity is not supported in the chart designer for the Quote entity.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li

Hi, thank you for your answer. Even though it is not one I hoped for.
Is there any other way? Maybe via Workflow to fill / match the fields? I only need to somehow get a hold of the date inserted in "createorderdate" .. Any ideas..?

The date you are after is actually held in a different Table "Quote Closed" the issue with reporting on it is that the table is a child table to Quote, and so you have to approach it from the Quote Closed table and add related Columns into a view from the quote (if the details in Quote Close are not enough). There's a similar table for Opportunity etc.

    Hi Fubar,

thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I cannot even choose Related Entity Quote Close.
Am I looking at the wrong place?
