How to add members dynamically to a static subscription list

Hello Marketing Experts,

We have the following:

1. Webform

2. Webform is embedded on a website

3. Static subscription list

When a computer user submits his/her data on a webform, a contact record is created in our CRM365 system. However, that contact is not added to our subscription list as members. Question is how to add the contact to subscription list after he/she submits the form? Moreover, a case record is created in the system after the user is added as new contact. This is not supposed to happen.

Regards,

Jolas365

    Hey Jolas365,
    Are you using Dynamics 365 Marketing? If so, you will need to use a marketing segment instead of a subscription/marketing list.

    If you create a dynamic segment, you can target all contacts that submitted your form.

    Once you create the segment, use the behavior block to add the following

    RE: How to add members dynamically to a static subscription list

    Hello Josh,

    Below is the marketing list I am testing on my webform:

    ML.JPG

    It is uploaded in the marketing webform.

    But the user is not added as member of the list.

    Should I use static list or dynamics one?

    Also in the subscription list form, I have subscription list and marketing list as below:

    Regards,

    Jolas 365

    I am confused which one to use when creating anew list.

    RE: How to add members dynamically to a static subscription list

    Hey Jolas365,
    The best way to achieve this is to add the subscription lists to your form. You can find a list of your subscription lists in the web form builder toolbox as per the screenshot below:

    pastedimage1663558493538v2.png

    Once you add the subscription lists to your form, the contact will be able to choose the lists they would like to subscribe to.

    If you would like to automatically add the contacts to these subscription lists without them appearing on your form, you can simply set a default value for each subscription list to 'Subscribed' and hide the fields from the form with some custom CSS.

    Once you do this for each subscription field, open the HTML editor and add the following CSS:

    .marketing-subscription-list {
    display: none;
    }
    Now when you preview the form, all subscription fields will be hidden. When a contact submits the form, they will be added to each subscription list.
    Looking forward to hearing how you go.
    All the best,
    Josh
