Hi,
i have entity 'A' and 'B'. Currently entity 'A' has a sub-grid for entity 'B'. My requirement is to update entity 'A' to resolve after every related record in the sub-grid (entity 'B') has been resolved. Its similar to case entity where parent case is resolved when all the child cases are resolved. Could the same be done for my custom entities ? or is there any way to handle this?
Hello,
The way you can solve this task differs depending on your skillset. If you can write code - just write the plugin that will do that for you. If you're not a developer and you don't have developer you can give this work then I would highly recommend to check Power Automate - former Flow. It's an easy task for it.
Thanks Andrew Butenko for responding.
Could you please help in how could i possibly do it with power automate.
Here is what you can do:
1. Your flow should trigger on change of status of your child item.
2. Then you should get the number of child entities in "open" state using "List Records" operation that are related to particular parent.
3. Then you should analyze the number of items inside the list you get on previous step.
4. If Number of records is equal to 0 then all child records were closed and you can update state of parent.
Thanks Andrew Butenko. I shall give it a try.
