Hello,

In D365 Commerce, need to tag same item under multiple categories for displaying on e-Commerce online store front navigation menu.

1. Created a channel navigation hierarchy & supplemental hierarchy

2.Added same item number in the categories from both the hierarchy

3.Mapped both channel navigation hierarchy & supplemental hierarchy in Assortment linked with online store channel.

4. Ran channel db full sync 9999

However only the channel avigation hierarchy getting published on e-Commerce storefront not the supplemental hierarchy.

Can anyone advise on how to use Supplemental hierarchy in D365 Commerce ,

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

When you say "However only the channel avigation hierarchy getting published on e-Commerce storefront not the supplemental hierarchy." do you mean the top navigation on the ecommerce storefront? Then yes, that is the correct behavior of the application. The top navigation is controlled by the navigational hierarchy, assortments control the product/item assignment to the channel.  You cannot have the supplemental hierarchy.show up in the top navigation.

Thank you Jeevan for your response.  I have a requirement to display same Product under multiple categories in the top navigation hierarchy displayed on the storefront. How can we address this requirement in Dynamics 365 Commerce? Since there is a restriction that same product can't be tagged under multiple categories in the category hierarchy.

    kindly share your thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Rama

The restriction of "one product in one category" is only for category hierarchies with role association = Commerce product Hierarchy. If you have a category hierarchy that has a role association (Navigation Hierarchy/Supplemental ), you should be able to add the same product under different category nodes.

After you created the hierarchy, have you updated the new navigation hierarchy in "Channel categories and Product Attributes" against the online store? You also need to run the "Publish Channel Updates" batch job as well. Once the batch job is completed, run an incremental sync of 9999.

To see the change immediately, use add &cachebypass=get parameter end of the e-commerce URL.

A product can be assigned to multiple categories within the navigation hierarchy. The online channel uses only the navigation hierarchy. Supplemental hierarchies are only used within discounts.
