Unreleased lines in a Completed Batch

I have several inventory items that are showing me a negative quantity. The lot/serial window shows a zero quantity. I used a query to see the specific item in any unreleased batches. When i go to an unreleased BM batch the batch is completed.

What is happening here and how can i correct the negative quantity??

TIA

Check void transaction sales journal. If you find some go to sales journal with the ShipRegisterID and run it again to be post it.

I may be looking in the wrong spot. I am seeing very different quantitys from the from the Voids to the neg inventory. I do not know how to perform the ShipRegisterID step.

Also, id like to add i'm barely an end user for this program but our company downsized and i'm all that is left. : (

Do you have access to the DB run this

    select ShipRegisterID ,INBatNbr,b.Status,b.Rlsed

    from SOShipHeader sh

    inner join Batch b on b.BatNbr = sh.INBatNbr

    where b.status ='V' and b.Rlsed =0

    group by ShipRegisterID ,INBatNbr,b.Status,b.Rlsed

then on sales order go to the sales journal report and in the option tab place the sales journal ID and print preview. That should be able to execute the batch register and post the transaction . Thanks

    Thank you!

One of two listed was processed. The items on the processed batch were finished goods. So far all of my neg available items are components and they are still at a negative quantity.  If i run the same statement, there are no longer any unreleased batches.

Is there somewhere else these could be stuck?

I have a brief understanding of SQL and statements like the one you supplied.
