Microsoft Dynamics AX (Archived)

ASC 2016-02, Leases (Topic 842)

Does anyone know if Microsoft has plans to add functionality specifically related to the new lease accounting standard as described in ASC 2016-02, Leases (Topic 842)?  If not, could someone recommend a good third party software that is integrated with Dynamics AX.  We currently are on AX 2012 R2 (CU8).

    Please have a look at the MS app source website where I found the following ISV solution.

    If you have access to the AXUG website you can also watch a webinar of their product that was done sometime last year.

    Thanks, Ludwig.  Yes, I saw that one and it looks promising.  I was hoping that there were more choices out there besides just this one.  So far, I haven't been able to locate any alternatives.

    Hi brethelm,

    As far as I know SAGlobal (www.saglobal.sg/.../microsoft-dynamics-ax-for-property-management.html) and Ignify (www.ignify.com/Real_Estate_and_Property_Management_ERP_CRM.asp) also offer property Management solutions with lease accounting features. Cannot tell you much about those solutions as I have not seem then in a Project. Probably have a look at the links that I included.

    I did look at those, too, but they appear to be lease management systems for lessors.  We're looking for lease management from the lessee standpoint in line with the updated accounting standard of Topic 842.

    Hi Brethelm, 

    The new lease accounting standard is definitely one of the largest new accounting standard in recent history, and unfortunately out-of-the-box Dynamics does not handle the new leasing standard.

    For this reason my team at Crowe Horwath LLP developed a fully integrated solution because we know how important it is to have a lease accounting solution embedded with your Dynamics instance. Our solution accounts from the lessee side, which is what you are looking for. This way you don't have to worry about integration with yet another outside system and put additional strain on your IT department! Additionally, we are a CPA firm, so we know technical accounting.
