OData Data source error: time out

When I try to update the data source I get this error. Translation is /It wasn't possible to read data from the transport connection: A current connection had to close the remote host computer/
Is it possible to get source data with an SQL-query through an API?
The data set is built around the query and we wan't to avoid too much work by re doing the data set

    I think it is possible to get source data with an SQL query through an API.

    Hi, is this Query very heavy? More than 30 minutes? I recommend reducing the data or adding some filtering.
    If you are on the On-Pre version, you can directly access the database and use SQL statements. But this cannot be done in SaaS.
