Did you ever find the answer to your problem?  I am having the exact same issue.

Is the word Add-in for GP is installed? I have seem same error message when the word add-in  was not installed. You can verify it from add-Ins tab in teg word Options window.

By default, the template is saved in the local temp folder (Documents and setttings/USER/local settings/temp),but I have not found where to change the path to this.    If the temp folder is cleared and the doc doesn't exist any more, it could be causing this error.    I have looked for a dex.ini setting to set the path, but have yet to find one.

Thanks for the help but I have installed the add-in and I still get the error.  Just to make sure I installed the add-in on 2 other computers with the same results.  Still one more computer and one Terminal Server and the Add-in wouldn't install because of a failure of Visual Studio tools install.

Is there a setting in Word that I need to set?  I have activated the developer tool bar.

There is a word add-in SP.  It is called MicrosoftDynamicsGP11-BITTemplateMapping-KB2407.msp.    Download that and try to run.    I forgot where I found that (been a few months), but if you search the internet it should pop up.

Thanks again.  I found the Service Pack and installed it but I am still getting the same error.  I'm not sure where to go from here.

I am not sure what else to try.   Did you browse out to the temp folder in the path of the error to validate the file still exists there?  That is all I can think of trying.   If it is still there, then I would contact Microsoft.   If not, I would delete and recreate the template there to see if that helps.

This was a bug in GP 2010 SP1 and previous.  It has been resolved in GP 2010 SP2 (R2).

FYI - I am having this issue on GP2010R2 version 11.0.1914 - newer than the service pack you mention. The reports were working for a couple hours, then the users started getting errors in GP when printing the reports. A yellow triangle warning appeared by the user's ID in the main GP window. The only way to get rid of the warning was to end task on GP. After getting back into GP I tried to look at this report, but when I click the modify button for the report, I get an error. I reinstalled the Word Template add-in, I cleared the user's TEMP folder. I restarted the workstation. I restarted the server. I also tried on a second workstation. I have submitted this to Microsoft and they dont' know what is causing it either.

Any answers on resolving this issue, the last time I had it an upgrade to Service Pack 3 fixed it but at another it has not resolved the issue.

    Thanks for any advice.
