"Get company list failure" applying patch to a dyn cloud env in LCS.

We have a project in LCS. We create a cloud env with some VM to develop our solutions.

We set up four users, a project manager and project owners.

We create some upgrade package to patch our VM but only the PM can apply, all the other project owners can't.

The error message is "Get company list failure", the system cannot retrieve the list of company.

I think this could be a rights problem but I cannot understand which right are envolved.

Regards,
Graziano.

    Hi Graziano Tartari,

    1. Sign in to LCS.
    2. Select the project
    3. Select the Project users tile, and then, on the Project users page, select the to Edit

    4. Edit User Page assign the Project Security role and and assign Implementation role.

    Hello Graziano,

not sure if you already got this figured out... just in case you are still stuck at this point, you can change the Implementation role from the Project Users form in LCS under the Implementation Project. You may need to login as a Project Owner to change the role for other users.

I was able to get a list of all companies show up when the below criteria was met

    1. user is a System admin in D365FO

    2. user has Project Owner/ Environment Manager role assigned in the LCS project

    3. user has an Implementation role assigned (it could be any role from Project Manager to Business User)

Of course. All the VMs are implemented on cloud.

I think that the issue concerns the role of the only member of the team that can apply the configuration: the project manager...

But I cannot remember how I assigned him the role... I can't find any information about this role in LCS and also on DevOps...

    Hi Graziano,

Are all VMs running on the Azure cloud?

    Hi,

both users are sysadm of D365 solution hosted on VM.

    Graziano.

    Hi Graziano,

Just to be sure that I understand you correctly. Both users are added as system administrators to the environment where you are applying the data package?

    Hi Sergei,

both users (Project Manager that can apply and Project Owner that cannot) are system administrator of D365FO on the VM. Every user has a

personal VM deployed on cloud env to develop on. Every user is sysadmin of D365 on this VM but only the project manager could apply the patch.

    Regards,

    Graziano.

    Hi Graziano,

It seems users don't have access to D365 application itself. Check if members who see this error added as users to D365 and have the same role as a project manager in D365 application (not LCS).

    Hi André,

I'll try to explain that my dev colleagues tell me.

They prepare some configuration packages (some xml files) to apply to a specific company inside the DevVM to do tests.

    pastedimage1582025802197v1.png
Then they select the package and try to apply to the VM (on the VM the developer could have about 15 companies). They must apply the Package on a specific company.

After this only the project manager can select the company. Other members of the project (Project owner) can select the vm but cannot select the company with this error:
