We are not using Payroll or Advanced timecards. Current functionality allows for delegation of approval of existing timecards but the approver must still delegate.
We simply need to be able to approve timecards by an alternate during vacation/out of office. Executive Approvals don't map to the timecards requiring approval (the group provides support to existing projects with different project managers).

Thorna, This is a new feature for Business Portal in Dynamics SL 2011. Here's a short overview:
Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011, will provide an easy way for a manager to delegate his approvals (current and future) to another manager, until he is back on-line and turns off the delegation. It will apply to Project Timecards, expense reports, invoices, time & expense line items, and budget revisions. Communicator approval messages will also be routed to the delegated employee.
