Hello all,

Hoping you can help.

  • I am a user of D365 CE (SysAdmin) and have created/published a knowledge article
  • I have ensured the target entity has Knowledge Management enabled/published
  • I have added the Knowledge base search control to my entity form and published
  • We use the Unified Interface UI version

When I use the search facility it does not return any results

Any ideas?

    Check the Language.

    - KB Article has a language

    - the Control to search the KB Articles (e.g. on Case entity) has some language settings behind it (depending on these settings and the language of the KB article and the Users language setting and the settings behind the Control can mean that some articles aren't visible to some users)

LA - Thanks so much for quick response.

I've checked/updated the KB article language & the KB control on the form language to match that of my browser language and D365 personalisation settings languages/formats.

    Unfortunately - no change

Thank you anyway as your advice made absolute sense

    Hi Tim,

Please open the form editor and check if KB search has filtering enabled.

    Hello,

Can you check if Relevance Search is enabled for Knowledge Article  entity?

We have an ongoing ticket with Microsoft because we do not want Relevance search enabled for the note entity.

Currently we only have Knowledge Article enabled for Relevance search but not for the note  entity.

The result is that knowledge search works but gives a warning message "The entity annotation is not enabled for search. Ignoring entity annotation.'

    Answer from Microsoft:

"Control “KB Search Control is designed to work for Relevance Search enabled on both Knowledge Article and the Note entity. If a customer is not willing to use the Note entity, then they need to explicitly reach out to Microsoft Support and have that capability turned off. At its core, this is not an issue/error, just the way the product has been designed to function.

The mitigation that we're referring to here is also basically to remote disable the Note search feature using an FCB.”
