An error occurred while using the BCP utility- upgrade from GP 2013 to GP2015

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi friends,

im trying to upgrade to GP2015 and in getting this error:

An error occurred while using the BCP utility--Data was not correctly copied to the server.  Please verify your odbc settings and that BCP has been correctly installed.  Great Plains Utilities will now exit.

im running the Utilities with 'Administrator Rights' and it doesnot work.

if I change the odbc to a test sqlserver it works, but not in production sql server.

is there any special configuration to sql server or something?

Check the SQL server configuration for TCP/IP and Named piped option same as the test sqlserver.

If the TCP/IP option is disabled, use the below link to enable the same and try.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../bb909712(v=vs.90).aspx

    Hope this helps!!!
