Management Reporter - Consolidated financial statement

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 657

One of my clients has consolidated financial statements setup.  When they run the report from company 1, the consolidated report mirrors the data from company 1 only. The data for company 2 returns all zeros.

When they change companies in MR (by secting default company), they can't see the consolidated financial statements that had already been created so:

They copied the rows from company 1 to compay 2, associated PERIODIC and YTD columns, then ran the report.

When they run the consolidated financial statement from company 2, it mirrored the results for company 2 only but returns zeros for company 1.

Depending on which company (1 or 2) the user is logged into in MR, the financial statement is only producing data from that company and is not reading/seeing the other company.

Do you have any ideas on what needs to be done so MR can read all companies/databases and allow the client to take advantage of the company tree they have built?

The reports were not appearing when Jim changed companies in MR so I reviewed the company setup and identified the companies were using 2 different building block groups.  I then:

    1) Changed the building block group in Company 2 to use the same building block group company 1 is using.

    2) Updated the rows for the report to add an additional financial dimension column that was pulling data from company 2.

    3) Added the appropriate accounts in each financial dimension column

    4) Updated the tree to reference the appropriate Row Definition

    5) Specified the appropriate Row Link for each company

    6) Marked/selected the option to Use Row Definition From Reporting Tree in the Report Definition.

Once this was done, the consolidated report displayed cumulative figures from both companies where the figures from each company individually were accurate.

We are having a similar problem but with a little twist. We are trying to consolidate 4 different companies in MR and provide department/profit center drill down functionality for our client.

    Here are the variables:

    1. Row Building block has all account numbers from all companies.

    2. Reporting tree lists all profit centers and we are using @any in the company column.

    3. All budgets in the various companies have the same BudgetID.

When we run the report, only the budget in the Default company appear in the report. The other budgets do not appear in the report. I tried to add the budgets as NP columns in the Column format and dd a Total column in the Column building block with no luck. Does @any company work in the Reporting trees? We are really at a loss.

Glad you found the solution.  Accolade's book on Management Reporter will be available in a few days and discusses this topic exactly

No. We didn't find the solution. We found an article that recommended that we add each company to the tree and roll each company into a reporting category. But when we did that, it multplied the budget amounts times the number of companies/databases.

    Still need help. Thank you!!
