Errors with Assemble-to-Order Items in Warehouse Shipments

(1) ShareShare

Hello
I am attempting to post warehouse shipments and ultimately a sales order on assemble to order items but I keep getting stuck at attempting to post the warehouse shipment.
Error: "There is nothing to post because the document does not contain a quantity or amount".

I have turned on the toggle switch for 'Create movements automatically' in Assembly setup to see if that made a difference but no difference.
I believe it is because the Qty to ship is not populating on the Warehouse shipment and ultimately because after registering the pick, the components have only moved to their assembly bin but have not consumed and the assembly itself has not created.
I also tried changing the assembly bin to be a different bin from the shipping bin but made no difference.
Have I missed a step somewhere? How does as assembly order consume automatically on an assemble to order?
I have the same question (0)

As far as I know, the Qty. to Ship field can be modified on the warehouse shipment page. Can you post the item after changing it to 1?
In addition, the method you mentioned will automatically create an Assembly Order, but it will not be posted. This will only be posted when the item is actually used, such as when posting a shipment.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

Yes, that seems to be the process. The Qty to Ship has to be modified in order for this to process. The assembly order was automatically fulfilled and it works fine thereafter.

your location setup seems to be not complete. You need to fill out the From assembly bin code, which tells BC which bin to output the assembled items into. I'll suggest you to review the posted assembly orders if your previous testing has worked. check if any consumption or output is posted.

If a location doesn't require bin, pick, ship etc, user could just post shipment of the assembled item and BC will auto consume, output, and ship the assembled item. But your setup is more complex. Try manual create assemble order, complete it, then create a warehouse shipment to pick it and ship it out.
