Dear All,

Can you please let me know is there any functionality in AX than i come to know who modified particular object recently.
I have one class and i did all changes yesterday as per requirement. And customer tested and told it's working properly. But today i saw some code are commented because of that it will not work as per expectation.
We have 2 vendors. they are blaming each other.
Please suggest me.

Thanks!

    Hi Arpan,

It is possible to see the last modified user on the class and the method. This is not always having the correct value due to layers. In that case you can create an AOT project, use the project filter to find objects in e.g. the USR or CUS layer and select the option to group by user.

Of course! Use version control. The answer is the same regardless of whether you program in X++, Java, Powershell or anything else.

Then you can look at who checked in the newest version(s) and with which comment, you can compare the code, revert to your version and so on.

    Hi Andre,

I did that but didn't get any popup for users.

    Please suggest me.

    Thanks!

The same approach is valid for a field of a Table ? This information is in the Model store ?

Sure, all changes are stored in version control, including changes to table fields.

Modelstore contains the current version of the table, but not information about previous versions, who changes which field or anything like that. That's the responsibility of version control systems.

I agree, the problem is that version control information is not available in my enviroment, i was hoping some alternative like that suggested by Andrè, thanks anyway.

You really should make sure that you'll never get into this situation again. No development should be done without version control and deployment should only use code coming from version control. Only then you can truly control what happens o your project.
