After I log in to the system I am getting this pop up "Generic Error"... did someone had thesame issue?

How to solve this.

I am using Dynamics CRM 2013, error accours both in IE and Chrome

All updates are installed.

----

1. in the CRM website Authentication properties, the Anonymous Authentication is enabled, also the windows auth. is enabled

2. all URL's addresses in properties in Deployment Manager are correct

3. "in CRM, go to Settings, Cutomizations, Developer Resources, and check that your service endpoints are correct (in IE you can click the URL then click the "singleWsdl" url to see if it works)" also fine

4.  in IIS, the CRM website must have only one binding (http or https) -> i have 3: http port 5555, https port 5556 and https 443 - i removed them and the error also accurs

    I was getting this error, but it turned out to be happening only when I was changing the configured port from 5555 to something else. Once I switched it back to port 5555 in IIS, 'Generic Error' went away.

    I have configured 3 ports: 5555 - local access, 5556 local access with SSL and 443 outside access with SSL....

    Hello,

    Do we see any errors in the event viewer related to this issue ?

    Since it is the generic error, collecting server trace would help us with more detail and I would also suggest to get in touch with Microsoft CRM support for resolving quickly.

    Thank You.

    If you mean there are generic error happen across the system. I have some IE set up step provided by MS to see whether will it solve your issue.

    Set "Privacy Preference" in CRM to "Automatically send the report to MS".

    Then

    1.       Go to tools -> Internet options-> security-> Trusted sites-> Add the following trusted sites.

    •         https://*.microsoft.com

    •         https://*.crm.dynamics.com

    2.       Click on general tab-> Check the check box for -> Delete browsing history

    3.       Click on Settings under general tab-> view files-> Select all files and delete them.

    4.       Tools-> Internet->options-> security->custom level->miscellaneous ->display mixed content.

    5.       4. Tools->Internet options->Internet->custom level->miscellaneous ->display mixed content.

    6.       5. Tools->Internet options->Intranet->custom level->miscellaneous -> display mixed content.

    7.       Start ->run -> type the command “prefetch” select all cookies and delete it.

    8.       Start ->run -> type the command “%temp%” select all and delete it.

    9.       Tools-> Internet->options-> security->custom level->miscellaneous ->display mixed content.

    10.    Tools->Internet options->Internet->custom level->miscellaneous ->display mixed content.

    11.   Tools->Internet options->Intranet->custom level->miscellaneous -> display mixed content.

    I'm getting the same issue. In the Event Viewer, I'm seeing an error causing by MSCRMmonitoringruntime. because of a failed login.  Also more directly to this error:

    Source = System.ServiceModel 4.0.0.0

    WebHost failed to process a request.

    Sender Information: System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult/47564457

    Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The protocol 'https' is not supported.

      at System.Runtime.AsyncResult.End[TAsyncResult](IAsyncResult result)

      at System.ServiceModel.Activation.HostedHttpRequestAsyncResult.End(IAsyncResult result)

    Process Name: w3wp

    Process ID: 2300

    I don't know that you would classify this is a fix, but I found installing SP1 for CRM 2013 on-premises did resolve the issue of the generic error as first posted.  Obviously don't try this in production without having first deployed to a sandbox or dev environment.

    Hi,

    if it is a on-premises deployment, I suggest you check out your IIS bindings, authentication, CRM deployment manager and registry keys.

    I had the same problem and solved it.

    As this seems to be quite a general complaint, I have written a blog post; Social pane giving a “Generic error” on your Microsoft Dynamics CRM dashboard, which might help you solve it.
