General Inventory Question

Hello, 

Is there a way to easily import inventory counts (to various locations) an not affect the inventory adjustment GL account? I have a new customer who is going live on Business Central and we need to import their inventory counts. Just not sure why there isn't a way to easily disable the inventory adjustments when doing the base import. 

Appreciate any help!

    Brendand,

    When going LIVE on BC, creating your first Inventory load you can use an Item Journal or Physical Inventory Journal. The issue lies with the Posting Setup and the fact it uses the Inventory Adjustment Account to offset the entry against the Balance Sheet Inventory Account. I normally do the following during GO LIVE and this entry...  Set the Inventory Adjustment GL Account to the same account in the Inventory Posting Setup (Inventory Account). This way that posting will wash against itself, since your GL History Load will create the GL Balance figure.

    Steven's approach is best way to keep GL unchanged. I use similar approach while uploading customer/vendor opening balances.

    Just revert the Adjustment Account again after successfully posting.
