I am testing an Order Type with the behavior of Non-Order Shipment for shipping out samples. The description of this Order Type is just what my client wants. It allows them to ship out a sample product, update inventory and not AR.
The problem I'm having is when I run the Sales Journal I get the SJ report that shows the cost but nothing for inventory. I checked inventory and an issue transaction was not made for the item.
Am I missing something?

I don't think there is a standard order type that will update inventory but not AR. You could use the Sales Order order type and mark the detail line as a Sample and keep the price at zero. This will update Inventory but not AR.
