Hi, is there any way to configure a web browser or D365 timeout settings to keep a session open as long as one browser tab is kept active? We frequently use the web browser's Duplicate Tab function to use different D365 modules simultaneously. In our test environment, I'm sure that as long as one tab was being used, the other tabs' sessions would stay active. Now in our production environment, D365 closes the session on a tab I hadn't used in a while (whatever is the max time as set by our Admin) even though I was using the same session on another tab the entire time.
Each browser tab is indeed a separate session - you can easily see this in the Online users form. Whether you login from multiple tabs, multiple browsers, multiple computers or multiple locations at the same time has no impact on the sessions - they are always separate sessions. And each session has it's own timeout counter.
Hi D Papa,
Each tab is a separate session and can separately time-out. There is no setting to link these different tabs.
