Hello CRM 365 Marketing Experts,

Do you have a working example of Double opt-in in your Marketing app.

The information given in the below link is a high level overview, at least from my point of view. I tried to set up my DOI by following the below link, but it is not working. I'm not sure what I've missed in the process.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/double-opt-in

Please help.

Regards,

Jolas365

RE: How to set up double opt-in

    Hello Clofly.

    Hope you are doing well.

Regarding my question, I was already able to create a subscription center type form as described in step 1. I also created a marketing page of type subscription center. This was in step 2. However, I could not find the way to add the form created in  step 1 to this page. This is where I am currently stuck.

Thank you very much for your valuable help!

    Regards,

    Jolas

RE: How to set up double opt-in

    Hi Jolas,

Do you mean that you were using "Test send" to send DOI email and then encountered error?(As screenshot below:)

    72155.JPG

If above would be your situation, as documentation said, Test send couldn't be used to send DOI email.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/double-opt-in#create-a-subscription-confirmation-request-message

To test DOI process, we should build a subscription center, add subscription lists and consent level field form field to the form of page,

then run a simple customer journey to make it work.

    Process:

    1. Create a subscription center type form -> 2. Create a subscription center marketing page, add the form to the page ->

    3. Create a test email, add the link to subscription center to email -> 4. Create a static segment, add your test contact(yourself) to it ->

    5. Run a customer journey, add the segment to the journey to send marketing email -> 6. When you received the test email, open the page via link of the email ->

    7. In subscription center page, subscribe a list or change consent level to others and submit form -> 8. Your test contact shall receive DOI email.

You could refer to following article for how to set up a subscription center:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/set-up-subscription-center

Also, the tutorial about how to create marketing email:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/create-marketing-email

Please feel free to ask question if you encounter any other problem during configuration process.

    Regards,

    Clofly

RE: How to set up double opt-in

    Hello Clofly,

I really appreciate your willingness to help me.

It's still not working for me.

To test the process, I tried to send a marketing email to my corporate email (me as a contact). I used the diamante template. In this stage, when I try to test send the email I got Business Process Error. So I think, something is not correctly set up in this stage.

Now, my general question is, what are the minimum required elements for the whole process to run correctly?I'm really new to this Marketing App so I am really confused on where to start for the entire process to work

Maybe It will be too much to ask you for a complete outline of all the needed elements so that I can test this correctly. But I really need to set this up and make it work.

    Thank you very much!

    Regards,

    Jolas

RE: How to set up double opt-in

    Hi Jolas365,

Below is my marketing setting which enabled DOI:

    1565.PNG

I ran a customer journey to send an email to my test recipient, after he subscribed "Monthly newsletter" in subscription center page,

    0027.JPG

he will receive another email for subscription confirmation, only if he clicks "I confirm", he'll be added to the corresponding marketing list.

    31.JPG

And he will be navigated to thank you page after clicking the button.

    41.JPG

Consent level: it is similar to subscription confirmation,

when consent level field of contact was added to subscription center form and contact changed it to another level,

then email for consent level changing confirmation will be sent to him, the new selected level will display in that email.

If DOI not works after you following guidance from that link, please check whether confirmation email was moved to spam or junk mailbox.(And was mailbox of your test recipient Outlook?)

    Regards,

    Clofly
