Hi ,

I am trying to create new contacts for existing accounts in CRM.

For this I extracted the Import Template of Contacts from CRM  and entered my data but when I am attempting to import the file I get the below message :

I have successfully imported several times for leads , where am I going wrong with contacts , please help!

Invalid Format in Import File
The import file does not have the format that Dynamics CRM uses to map the data to CRM fields. It is possible some hidden sheets that the system uses have been modified or corrupted. Try again with a file exported from CRM.

Check if you have two columns with same name or any special characters in the sheet

Can you download the import template again and paste the data from the source file.

Also, tell me the file extension of your current file? is it xml?xlsx or csv?

can we remove the non required columns from the template and only required columns are filled with data and will it be possible for us to import the data.
