Different employee numbers for different legal entities.

How do I create different number sequences for employees from different legal entities? We have 3 separate legal entities, and we need different number sequences for the employees who are employed in these different legal entities.

I am getting 'The format cannot contain the specified interval.' error message but I have no idea what it is. I cannot find any error in the number sequences set up which I have entered.

I don't know why am I getting that error message?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Stevan,

Are you using D365 HR or D365 F&O HR?

As per my knowledge, you cannot create number sequence for three different legal entities. Are you using personnel number as a number sequence or any other field?

I was having similar requirements from one of my customers and we created a custom field and using Power Platform, we generated number sequence for new employees based on their legal entity and for existing employees, we created other integrations and run every day or every week.

    Hello Parag,

    Thanks for prompt response.

We are using D365 HR and not F&O.

Currently there is no personnel number in number sequences. I did find under 'Scope parameters' field a scope of 'legal entity'

I was planning on keeping the scope as 'Legal entity' and create a employee number for different legal entities.

    Is that a possibility?

I am not sure which form you are using but I expect you should use Worker or employee screen in D365 HR and there is a field called personnel number which generates a new number sequence for all workers, but it is not possible to generate a number sequence based on legal entity. You can set up a number sequence format.

I already propose the above solution which can be helpful but wait for some more few people to respond or you can raise a support ticket.
