Serial Number received against a PO but the receipt is unposted

Dynamics GP 2010/sp1

We had been waiting for an item to arrive from a vendor only to find that it had been "sort of" received three weeks prior.

We have a receipt in the system showing the item # and the s/n - the receipt cannot be looked up because it appears to be an orphan - picture below

Inquiry>Inventory>Serial/lot trace:

As you can see the STATUS is UNPOSTED but there is no Document Date listed and when you click RCT00000000118098 you cannot look it up.

The s/n in question is 1211001 for item # EP-5270

I have done SALES, PURCHASING,INVENTORY Reconciliation and it did not clear this up.

I then did CHECK LINKS for Purchase Transactions, Inventory Purchase Receipts and Inventory Transactions and this did not clear it up.

The PO (PO0013131) does not show as having been received (Inquiry>PURCHASING>PO DOCS).

However, if you bring up PO0013131 and attempt to receive against it, you cannot because a dialog box will pop up and say that it has already been received against.

While doing a SELECT SQL statement I found RCT00000000118098 mentioned in the following tables:

POP10300; POP10310; POP10330; POP10500

We need to gain access to that S/N so we can ship it out.  We need to be able to clear up POP0013131

Any suggestions?

I would validate the history tables as well in POP making sure nothing posted, then double check the inventory for the item to make sure nothing populated there, then delete the work tables for that PO and receipt (ones you mention).   Assuming nothing posted anywhere else, this should open up the PO.  Of course, be sure to have a backup prior to doing any edits in SQL.   It probably doesn't hurt to do check links and reconcile prior to re-entering the receipt.   Seems strange the checklinks did not remove the receipt without a date.
