We have a comments field in the custom entity and Max length is 50. I noticed that Max length is increasing dynamically when we import a data with more than 50 characters in the comments field in CRM.
I don't know whether if it is a default behavior or if any configuration?
We are expecting to throw an error or failed message when comments is >50 character while import a data in the CRM.
How to restrict not to increase the Max length dynamically?
Really appreciate your input regarding this.

You can't change this behavior for a long text field. You are best off just raising the limit or changing it to an NVARCHAR field.
