Fractions

Posted on by 785

We have a lot of descriptions for our part numbers that are fractions. Some of our part numbers have small-sized fractions that only take up one character, but I can't figure out how to do that. Can someone tell me?

I can barely spell MAC but give this link a try:

It looks like you need to down a free app.

OOO Thank you Richard - is there a way to do that on a Mac? We don't have the Alt key

This chart has a couple of fractions but not all. You hold down the ALT key and then type the number using the numbers on the keypad.

    RE: Fractions

The guy who helped us first set up our software showed us how to make part numbers.

So for instance, if we had a part number for 3/4" Pipe - he would make it look: ¾"

I copied and pasted that from the item maintenance window of our Dynamics GP, but I don't know how to make it do that when I write the descriptions.

Unfortunately GP doesn't let you enter fractions as you would in something like Microsoft word.  When you enter these in a description, and you entered 1/4, that would take up 3 characters.  Is this what you are meaning?

I am really not sure I have understood your question, could you please provide further details ?

Are you talking about item number and their descriptions ? What exactly do you mean by part numbers have small sized fractions ?

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
