Server is having  GP 2010 SP1 and SQL 2008R2 . Is it possible to directly restore SQL 2005 SP3 db used for GP 10.0 SP 4 -- to function properly in SQL 2008 R2 server using GP2010 SP1 If i run the utlites

Please need help.

    You will want to follow TK 878449 to move GP databases from one server to another. You will complete the lateral move first and then you can upgrade the data. If you already have GP 2010 SP1 on the server with it databases, you could temporarily install a second install of SQL, do the move and upgrade and then merge the databases.Depending on exactly what it is you are trying to do you may need to add these companies to the existing GP 2010 SP1 installation first because you do the merge.

    HI Leodwin,

    Try doing a migration as described here technet.microsoft.com/.../ms143724.aspx.  Restoring directly is unlikely to work.
