ReportReport
Posted on by 26

When I try to run a report in CRM 2016 I get an error that says,"The report cannot be displayed. (rsProcessingAborted)."

When I check the reporting logs I see the following:

ERROR: An exception has occurred in data source 'CRM'. Details: Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Cannot create a connection to data source 'CRM'. ---> Microsoft.Crm.Reporting.DataExtensionShim.Common.ReportExecutionException:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "MSCRM_CONFIG" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user . ---> Microsoft.Crm.Reporting.DataExtensionShim.Common.ReportExecutionException: Cannot open database "MSCRM_CONFIG" requested by the login. The login failed.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi,

As error says that the user under which reporting server is running does not have CRM database access . So you need to check following -

    - Open Reporting Service Configuration manager and check which service account you have used.

Check here in the second screenshot in below reference -

        docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-ssrs-on-premises

-- Go to Database server and Open SQL Server Management Studio .Add the same Reporting Server  service account user under security of SQL server Database and give full access.

Make sure you can browse the report  Report Server URL .

I also had to update SSRS from 2012 to 2016 and now when I try to start the SQL Server Reporting Service (MSSQLSERVER), I get an error that says, access is denied.  What do I need to check for this?

Make sure the user you logged in into the server and the user you added in the reporting service has System Administrator permission in the SQL server Database. So check the user has added in the database .

    Hi ,

Could you please let me know if you are able to open Out the box reports try to open below report.

    Account Distribution

if you are able to run OOB reports then need to look at your custom reports.

if possible , send me the log of reporting folder where the reporting extension is installed.

    <SQL INSTALLDIR>\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles

    Thank you.

I have network service listed as the user.  Would that be correct?  How do I give that account access when I don't even know what it is?

Thank you. Your information has been helpful so far.

Did you happen to change the Name of the report on the report server?  I did and wasn't aware that the GUID needs to stay and you can use the description to "name" the report.

If you did, you can find the GUID in the address bar betwe %7b and %7d when you click to run the report.  See below.

Copy and paste it in { } and apply the changes.  This should resolve the issue.
