Hello everyone,
We have been seeing this issue in the last few days, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
From what I've been able to find on Google, I should just have to restart the async services, restart IIS and away we go. Well, that doesn't seem to help here. Also, those instructions were for CRM 2011 so I don't know how relevant they are.
Anyways, we are getting a lot of these logged in Event Log:
Current key (KeyType : CrmWRPCTokenKey) is expired. This can indicate that a key is not being regenerated correctly. Current Key : CrmKey(Id:c8f3c8aa-6d92-e511-80e1-00505681c656, ScaleGroupId:00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000, KeyType:CrmWRPCTokenKey, Expired:True, ValidOn:11/24/2015 05:39:02, ExpiresOn:12/27/2015 05:39:02, CreatedOn:11/24/2015 05:39:02, CreatedBy:DIAMOND\MSCRM5.
When the user tries to open an attachment. The user just gets an "Invalid action" modal with "Try again" or "cancel" buttons.
I cannot seem to find any helpful information about this error as it relates to CRM 2013, and pretty much the only fix I've seen doesn't seem to do it here.
Similar to this issue but the users can move around CRM just fine, it's only when opening attachments.
Anything else we can try here??

Hit F12 to open Dev Tools. Then Right Click the refresh button and click Empty Cache and Hard Refresh
That did the trick. Far to easy...thank you!
Just have to clear temporary Internet files and unchecked "preserve favorites data" if you have it in your favorites
We have run in to the same error and cleaned up our URLs to resolve the issue but it started to happen yesterday in CRM 2016 on prem. I restarted the async services without any luck. This issue usually it has to resolve itself on its own (it did in 2013 but we made changes with the upgrade). It affects random users. It works in Chrome but not IE. It worked for one user if I added another security role but still doesn't work for a user who is part of that same role. Nothing in the event viewer. Any thoughts on this?
it magically seems to have just cleared itself up... None of the suggestions had worked, we left it overnight, and seems to be working now. Rebooting servers, client computers, etc didn't help... Just time. For some reason.
Check the Crm Async Service (Maintenance) is running - it may be worth restarting the service. This service generates the keys that are referenced in the error message
We're having the exact same problem since couple days ago (described in another thread). It seems to broke only in IE (users can use FF to open (download) the attachments). Only a user with admin rights in CRM can open them in IE.
No IFD here. I suspect some recent Windows Update, don't have the facilities/resources to test which though.
I've also tried this command but didn't seem to do anything:
2-Execute Microsoft.Crm.Tools.WRPCKeyRenewal.exe with parameter /R ( Microsoft.Crm.Tools.WRPCKeyRenewal.exe /R )
I should mention, for those that it doesn't work on, it appears to work just fine in Google Chrome. Why it won't work under IE (a Microsoft product) and work under Chrome (wasn't even supported until last year) is beyond me. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm thinking maybe possibly it has something to do with authentication or something, since IE uses NTLM and logs in automatically, where Chrome we need to sign in
We have CBA/IFD set up with ADFS3.0 and have rebooted both servers.
