Change user roles

I added a user as a game admin and later decided that I wanted to promote that user to Commissioner. There is no ability to change the role once the user has been imported.

I attempted to remove the user as a game admin in order to reimport them from CRM. The user is still locked on the import page and he is neither a Game Admin, User, or Fan in my FST account.

Is there anyway to reset things or do some actual user management?

This is Fantasy Sales Team. There is only one CRM Role and it has nothing to do with the Fantasy Sales Team roles inside their application.

Hi everyone.  First, I want to confirm that the FST team is personally monitoring this section of the forums.  So this is definitely the right place to ask these types of questions.  And we appreciate the feedback!

You're absolutely correct - currently, there is no way to "upgrade" a Game Admin to a Commissioner.  And we agree, this is a problem!  One that we're going to quickly address and will post an update to the application.  I've already discussed this with our Dev Team and they're working on it tonight.  We'll post back here shortly once the ability to change user roles is added to the CRM Users Import page.

Thanks for the feedback and I assure you, we take it seriously.  Exactly why we released the application in Preview mode; so we can continue to iterate and improve the product as we move towards general release in 2016.

In the meantime, Commissioner Accounts can be shared.  Before the acquisition, we had many companies just create one Commissioner Account and share it amongst those managing the game(s).  The application is designed where multiple people can be logged into the same Commissioner Account without negatively affecting the experience of another.  So in the short term, this might be your best solution.  But I expect we'll have a real fix for you shortly so you can register the second properly.

    Thanks Adam!

I did go ahead and create a shared commissioner account when I ran into this problem.

A second issue that spawned from this occured though. I deleted "User X" from the Game Admin section thinking that I could re-import him from Dynamics CRM. On the users page it still thinks "User X" is in FST but he doesn't exist anywhere now (No user record and no Game Admin record). Is there anyway to reset his account so I can add him as a user?

Additionally, it appears that there is no way to have a Game Admin also as a user.

No problem!  We have a team of folks checking these forums actively - so know that we're always listening :)

Regarding your second issue, this will be addressed in the fix we're working on above.  However, we may need to manually reactivate the user you deleted.  Can you provide the name of the company you registered as well as the name of the user in question?  This will allow us to go in and make the change necessary.

Game Admins can be added as "Fans" in games, meaning they can draft teams and participate.  But they can't be Players in the sense of earning points and being drafted themselves.  If you want someone to truly be both, you should import them as a Player from the CRM Users Menu - that will be their main account.  Then you should manually register a Game Admin with a separate email address.  If you've already registered them as a Game Admin, don't fret, with the fix we're working on you'll be able to change it.

Thanks for all your help Adam.

    Company: Atrio Systems

    User: Jason Wickman

We are getting this together so we can demo to our clients.

I've requested that our team manually add him back.  Then with the fix, when live, you'll be able to upgrade him to a Commissioner.  Please give it a few days as the team is working on a lot of great stuff for FST and needs to slot it in :)  But we're on it!

George, try logging in again - you should see your Game Admin restored.  Don't delete him :)  Update coming soon where you can upgrade the account to Commissioner.

George, this functionality has now been added and is live.  You can visit the Dynamics CRM Users Import Menu and you'll see the ability to change a user role.  Thanks for the feedback and please keep it coming!  Let us know if we can help with anything else.
