How to link Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise Edition to Dynamics 365 Business Central?

Good day

Currently we have BC running but would like to get Sales up and running.

In trying to link Sales to BC, I've previously followed steps on an AI chat (not sure where I found it) and got to link Dataverse from BC. The next step was to link tables and the rest I can't remember but I lost the instructions.

Where can I find this information or can someone assist here?

I have the same question (0)

You can integrate Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise Edition with Business Central by using Microsoft Dataverse. The process involves setting up the Dataverse connection in Business Central, installing the integration solution in Sales, and then configuring table mappings and synchronization jobs.

    🔑 Step-by-Step Integration Guide

    1. Prepare Dynamics 365 Sales

    • Create integration user
      • A non-interactive user account with read/write privileges for entities to be synchronized.
    • Install BC integration solution
      • Import the DynamicsNAVIntegrationSolution.zip into Sales.
      • This adds Business Central connection entities and roles (Integration Administrator, Integration User).

    2. Connect Business Central to Dataverse

    • Go to Business Central → Setup → Dynamics 365 Connection Setup.
    • Choose Connect to Dataverse and provide credentials for the integration user.
    • Business Central will deploy default synchronization settings and table mappings.

    3. Configure Table Mappings

    • Use the Integration Wizard in Business Central to select which tables to sync.
    • Common mappings include:
      • Accounts ↔ Customers
      • Contacts ↔ Contacts
      • Products ↔ Items
      • Sales Orders ↔ Orders
    • You can customize mappings depending on your business needs.

    4. Coupling Records

    • Coupling links records between Sales and BC (e.g., a Sales Account with a BC Customer).
    • Set up coupling criteria in BC to ensure correct synchronization.
    • Run Full Synchronization to align existing records.

    5. Synchronize Data

    • Enable bidirectional synchronization for sales orders, products, and contacts.
    • Test by creating a Sales Quote in Dynamics 365 Sales and verifying inventory availability from BC.
    • Monitor synchronization jobs in BC to ensure data consistency.

    ⚠️ Key Considerations

    • Default mappings overwrite custom ones if you reconnect through Dataverse.
    • Ensure security roles are correctly assigned; otherwise, synchronization may fail.
    • Integration requires online versions of both Sales and Business Central.
