PA_INVOICE_FORMAT_TAX_PROJECT_TEMP has caused an unknown error (46)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Recently Billing team has been experiencing the following error when running BS Email Manager.

Having worked with BS support this is not an attributable error from BS.

We have cleared the %TEMP% for the user in question, this has not worked.

It appears that this is related to Dexterity, I am not certain as to where I should begin searching to resolve.

Can any of the experts weigh in on this on how I can resolve it?

This occurred a year back and the email I came across from our VAR suggested merely clearing the %TEMP% I have already tried that after a very brief Google search.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Requested some AV exceptions and the error has stopped.

Putting locks on a table is not a good idea for a report. Can the code be modified to use the nolock option?

Still get the message, some items process successfully others do not. I'm wondering if I need to contact MSFT support case at this point, last time VAR was contacted no solution was provided one of our developers stated that their code was locking the table.

Yes, it is complaining about a temp table which suggests perhaps a security issue. If you run Forms Printer as admin and setup all connection strings to use 'sa' do you still get this message?

    Richard

I did not mention that we are in the process of having our VAR implement Forms Printer so that we will no longer use the default PA reports.

Do you think that this could have some sort of impact?

Tools->Customize->Customization  Maintenance highlight this modified report and export it to a package file. Then rename your existing REPORTS.DIC file and import this package into a fresh REPORTS.DIC and try again. If it now works your reports dictionary was corrupt. You will also need to import your other modified reports.

I have created a new fresh directory to have the Email Manager files drop into with the necessary permissions.

Both DGP and Outlook were launched as administrator,  I am still receiving the same error.

When you mention : In GP you could try to export out your invoice and import it back into a fresh reports file. That dictionary may be corrupt.

Can you specify that proccess for me, do you mean the reports dictionary?

We routinely clear out the paths where the invoices go. Having too many files in that folder usually causes eMailManager to fail. Also, when launching GP and Outlook make sure you are using the same user.  Try running both as Administrator to see if that helps. In GP you could try to export out your invoice and import it back into a fresh reports file. That dictionary may be corrupt.
