Our entity has several stores and each store has been setup as a separate dimension/unit. I was wondering if it was possible to have a rule in Dynamics whereby a P&L entry can only be posted if it was posted with a specified dimension a control mechanism. Currently it is possible for an entry to be posted to the P&L without it being assigned to a dimension which is an issue as the cost/revenue item has not been assigned to a store/dimension.
Also, is it possible to have this control in place for P&L accounts only because balance sheet entries do not need to be assigned to a dimension.

you need to setup your gl account to ask for dimension value
and with this you can select which account asks for dimension, if this is gonna be mandatory and write a predefined dimension if you want, I do this for my expenses accounts and the user cannot post anything if he doesnt selec an allowed dimension
