I enabled Editable Grid on the opportunity entity. Yet when I try to edit, every column in the view has a lock. These fields are not read-only in the form.
In my solution, I click on Components->Entities->Opportunity. On the Controls tab, I have Read-only Grid for Phone and Tablet, and Editable Grid for Web.
Yet every column is locked:
This occurs on every view I have on Opportunities.
Some of the views are customized to specify columns. If I look at Custom Controls on the view, I see this below. It seems to say that the view is Read Only. But I don't see a way to add Editable Grid to the view - it is not an option when I click Add Control.
How do I get this view to be editable?
Hi JoeyD,
It's so strange, is it only opportunity entity or will the same happen to other entities?
Maybe you can try to change another browser or clear browser cache to test again.
And what version of your environment? or you can package the entity and views etc into a solution and import into a replica test environment to check if the issue will happen again.
You can't enable Editable Grid control for just one specific view, you just can enable it at the entity level, and enabling Editable Grids at the entity level will then allow you to turn any view into an editable grid.
That's OK with me - I thought perhaps there was something in the views that was causing this. It is enabled at the Entity level.
As you mentioned, "Yet every column is locked:", which may be due to the status of opportunity record.
The Status is definitely Open.
And some data types are NOT editable in an editable grid: Composite fields (like Full Name and Address fields), State/Status fields, Lookup entity-related fields, Customer lookup fields, Owner.
Yes, I get that. But if you look at my example above, there is a date field, number fields, and a text field. But all of them have a lock.
Also, you can check if there are business rules or js that lock all fields.
There is none of that. If I double click on the row to get to the full form, I can edit the fields. And I'm a global admin, so I can edit everything.

Test:
Only records that status is open can be editable:
