Gents,

I am trying to print a logo on the default receipt of Retail POS but I am unable to get the image rendered, I followed steps in the below article:

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/axsupport/2014/10/24/ax-for-retail-2012-r3-receipt-printing-enhancements-print-multiple-logos-and-select-images-in-ax-client/

I can see that logo is being printed as text <L:25>, please see attached image.

I am using Dynamics AX 2012 with the latest update (CU13) and can see that image I used is downloaded to the store server database to RetailImages table but I am unable to get it printed on the receipt.

Any insights are highly appreciated.

Regards,

Mohammad

If you are sure you have aptly followed the process in the blog, the only issue i see is the size of the image. Can you save the image as Monochrome Bitmap from mspaint with the following dimension?  Some printers support only image files that below 10 kb in size.

Unfortunately resizing the image didn't work, I even tried to print a sample logo on the virtual machine that is provided by Microsoft and still I am unable to print.

    This really wired!

Which printer and driver (OPOS/Windows) are you using ?

I am using Windows Driver, tried to use several printers and even PDF and XPS but in vain, please take a look into my hardware profile below:

Your hardware profile looks fine. Not sure if PDF/XPS printer will print the logo. Generally we go with OPOS driver if the printer supports it. The logo print works fine on all Epson, Bixolon, Star etc,. Which printer are you using ?

    Opos drivers are the norm

Test with the RetailPOSLogo.bmp process and if desired attempt the printer upload later so you have a known working image and can then focus on troubleshooting printer setup.

The WindowsPrinting() method communicates with the printer using the  the System.Drawing.Printing class. When printing to an OPOS device, you can send special OPOS codes to the printer to print either a barcode or an image, both of which are directly managed by the printer.  Because System.Drawing.Printing is not specific to any one printer or class of printers, this shortcut is not available for Windows printers.  When you print these fields to a Windows printer, you’ll notice that they show up as placeholders like this:  <L> and <B:00001>.

There are limitations to using System.Drawing.Printing for printing - basically you are building a large bitmap for each page and sending it to the printer. To  add images to the receipt you have to code within the printDoc_PrintPage() method.  Use the System.Drawing.Printing class to merge images into the text that is printed.

There third party tools you can consider if you have to stick with Windows printers.
