I want to thank many of you in this community who have helped me in the last three weeks. Prior to then I had never used Dynamics and had no training. I was presented the challenge to see how quickly I could stand up a (proof-of-concept) case tracking system for our local social services department. I am weird this way in that I would accept such a challenge; how hard could it be, I thought? Ha!
Two weeks in a row I worked over 60 hours. Each impediment I encountered required me to stop and "figure it out" by testing numerous variations, searching Google, searching TechNet, searching blogs of many of you, until I could determine what kind of controls were in place under the hood. In many cases I reached out to this forum and help was quickly at hand.
This coming week my work will be demonstrated to the Director over Human Services in our county with the objective off getting a green light to fund a full-blown development project. We have no doubt it will be approved. The coolest thing is that the end state solution is already 80% complete. We will defer to a consultant to review what I've done and tweak to ensure extensibility and manageability before letting the paint dry.
So, I want to extend my gratitude to those of you who have helped me along the way. It is amazing what I was able to do with this tool without training and in such a short period of time. It's a testament to the tool and to the community.
Thank you and I will do my best to contribute back as I grow in my knowledge of the tool. I'm a believer.
