Go to your contacts list, activate the filter to the records you would like to email, select all the records, then on your command bar there is an elipse which is three dots ... click on it and select, Quick Campain. Once you select quick campain, the wizard will start, select to send only to your selected contacts, on the next screen you will be able to type your email. Once done click on OK, and the emails will be sent to your selected contacts.
