Item Detail List will not print

ReportReport
Posted on by 1,331

Running GP2010SP3 With Windows 2008R2 and 2003R2 terminal servers and Windows 7 Fat Clients.

When you try the print the report from the the Item Maintenance window or the Inventory Reports window we receive the following Error

Error Message:
Inconsistent restriction/sort expression Please add the
following restriction "D05443 Free on Boar = D05443 Free
on Boar"

There is no Modified version of this report so I generated one and received the same error, remove the modified report and still get the error.

Removed file REPORTS.DIC and the report runs.

Re-Import the Package file with no reference to the report and the error returns.

I Verified that there is no referenct to the report in the Package file, and no modified report is listed.

In that the report runs fine without the reports dictionary, screams modified report. Here’s what comes to mind to troubleshoot. You might try it after each step. I don't mean to make you angry, I do see that you've been down some of these roads already. You might do Step three and then jump down to eleven:

    1. Try in from a different workstation as a different user

    2. Try it against Fabrikam logged in as ‘sa’

    3. Run the system utility Reconcile on the Security Assignement Alternate/Modified Operations.

    4. Look at your Dynamics.set file to make sure you are looking at the correct reports dictionary.

    5. Remove all (even 3rd party) reports dictionaries from your installation.

    6. Print the report to screen and select to Modify current report.

    7. Carefully record the name of the report – lots of the reports have similar looking names. This one has ‘Detailed Item List’ and ‘Detailed Item List by Site’. (I know you already did this - but I had to include it for others)

    8. Open the Sort and Restrictions windows and make sure they are blank

    9. Check the tables, you should have the following:

    Item Master

    - Item Quantity Master

    - Item Vendor Master*

    --PM Vendor Master File

10.Try to print the report from within the Report Writer screen - you don't have to switch back to dynamics.

    11. Import the reports from the old dictionary one-by-one and try to print the report after each import. This procedure will identify which one is creating the error. If you’ve got too many reports to go one-by-one, do them a handful at a time. Use the Import button on the Report Writer window itself, not package files. You don't need to switch back to Dynamics since you can print the report from the RW window itself.

Let us know what you find.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Re-read the posting. This report is NOT modified, there are others that are.

The report is not listed in Report Writer as modified.

There is no reference to this report in the package file

The reports that ARE modified work.

Do you know what modifications were made to this report? If you do not know or do not need them, then drop the report completely. Otherwise, insert the report back in from scratch and start the modifications again.
